I’ve included the Andersen and Taylor textbook as a file and I included a basic outline of this autobiography and you can use the concepts and theory from the Andersen and Taylor textbook I mentioned in there if you’d like, but for my background information, you can say that I’m a 29 year old Black male student from Long Beach California that works as a physical therapist assistant and attend community college, middle class, and loves to play sports and workout at the gym. Paper Guidelines
• Students will have the chance to discuss & apply sociological concepts
to personal experiences. Some topics students may choose, but are
not limited to include
groups, culture, gender, race, family, education,
religion, etc. Students will complete a paper discussing applicable
concepts and make connections to oneself.
• How has society had an impact on your life?
•
For example:
o How has your gender had an influence on your experiences? How
has religion played a role in your life? Explain how the
sociological concepts you have selected combine to give you a
unique perspective.
• Be sure to connect your own personal experience to larger structural
and historical forces in society, utilize your “Sociological Imagination.”
Note: Be sure to explain how the sociological concept connects to
you . . . it
is not strictly an overview of concepts.
Requirements:
• Introducing Concepts and/or theory:
o Concepts/theories should be introduced (Paraphrased), cited
(Andersen & Taylor, Year). Use quotations and page numbers for
direct quotes. How does this concept or theory connect to your
experience?
• Utilize
a minimum of 3 sociological concepts, and 1 theory as
covered during the course.
Paper Length and Format:
• The paper should be 3-4 pages in length, double spaced, and be
completed in 12-point font. Include a cover page and a reference
page. Utilize APA Format.
• CITE ALL SOURCES. Andersen and Taylor are required; if you use
any outside sources, make sure to include them on your reference
page. Keep in mind, a large part of the paper is making connections
to personal experiences.
• Turnitin may/or may not be used
• The paper is worth 35 points.
